CTV facilitated an AI Creative Challenge as part of the Emergence Creative Festival. A collaboration of 90 participants heard from the very talented Ian Mutch and Dune Haggar as they demonstrated how AI supports their creativity, not generate their creativity. Dune summed it up perfectly in his first slide, ARTificial Intelligence – AI in Wonderland (not generated by ChatGPT).
Wongy provided participants with prompts (unaware of the other table’s input) for a live image generation using Midjourney. The results were bizarre and hilarious.
Each groupwent on to work with ChatGPT to support a plot-pitch based on a chosen genre. As ChatGPT generated generic themes for each plot, each table worked in opposition to this, excluding all elements suggested from their final pitch. The results were hilarious, and who knows? The next feature film may spawn from Emergence 👏 🎬
While each group pitched, the clever heads of Ian and Dune generated live ‘hero’ images on the big screen, based on each table’s ideas. Here are some of the titles generated on the day:
Pieces of Me | Romantic-Horror
A Quiet Understanding | *Developed into a new genre ‘Mediocre-Romance’
Meet the Matchmaker | Dystopian Romance
Unlikely Allies | Romance-Mystery
Golden Dreams of theWest | Western
Untitled | Fantasy-Romance
We will have to revisit this post in 2025 for an ‘AI – Where are they now’ segment. The advancements are happening rapidly and the creatives are here to play!
